Slow and Low
We are making slow and chill sexy again. Our bodies naturally want to turn inward during the colder months, ( even if you are in LA or Florida) and it’s hard to bring our 21st Century brains with them. We feel like if we aren’t doing a really challenging practice that we are wasting our time. I invite you to explore the feeling of honey as you move today. Or butter. You know, the sexy foods. Get dramatic and sigh or moan ( you are in your own space so no one will make fun of you after class as the “crazy yoga person”. This class wants to be indulgent and soft. You will see how good it feels! 2 blocks and a strap! Please excuse the large number of times I get up to mute someone! These classes are live, after all!
Inhabit Your Habits
In this class, the goal is to get you to break old habits and create healthier ones for your physical body. It’s not just the habit itself, but also the way in which we show up to it. Mindlessly repeating patterns, good or bad, leads to a life that feels like sleepwalking. If we wake ourselves up by shaking ourselves up, we become more able to identify the habits we actually want to be doing, the ones that bring us joy and make us feel good. Plus, a whole lotta HIP LOVE
If 75 minutes can shift you, what can 24hrs do? A week? A year? When times get hard and it feels like it will never end, it’s the unwavering knowing that it will get better that will make it better. POSI-TATING. Putting your practice into practice. Prepare for a story about shit (yes, actual real shit) and a lot of repetition into crow shapes. There will be modifications for injuries, as always. And many fun options. A shape that is thrown into most practices nonchalantly, but is actually quite scary for a lot of us.
Just Do It
I begin to feel contemplatory about all of the years that have come before where I didn’t makes the changes I wanted to make. Didn’t tell that person what I wanted to really say to the from the heart. Didn’t take the opportunity in my yoga practice to safely try something I have wanted to try. So today’s class is entitled, “JUST DO IT”. Let’s end the guilt cycle. If we prepare and eradicate sometimes warranted fear, the scary things don’t seem that scary after all. Get your your Nikes and get ready to fly.
We Are The Champions
It’s a full circle moment. Hint hint, yes we will be using all 360 degrees of our mat. Become ok with that now. And it’s a lot about the hips. It’s where we hold shit so only appropriate that we release as we talk about where we have come from, where we are going, what we have lost, and what we have gained. we did it, crew. We made it through 2020
2021 Is On One
In preparation for the new year, we wring out one last time to open up to all that’s ahead. Setting an intention and seeing where you want to be is only the first step. It’s about putting your intentions into action and repeating those actions until you live your way into the life you see. Let this class take you with it. Notice how each repetition makes it feel that much better, that much easier. A feel good, circular flow to whip up the new year!
You already have the greatest gift you could ever receive. YOURSELF. How many of you have lost a little bit of that in the last year? Gotten a little too far away from the magic of what you possess? Today we find it again by turning back inside and re-awakening our senses through Pratayahara and forward folds. The best present is your PRESENCE!
I’m guessing you’re full with all of that beautiful gratitude we curated over the last week during the Thanksgiving celebrations. Being full is amazing, but sometimes it feels like a little too much. Without space for the new, we can often feel weighed down. When we let go of the junk and keep the good stuff, we have the space and levity to fly.
